New message board

As you will have noticed, the RAFLing website message board hosted by me has now been replaced by Don Stuart’s message board.

I noted the comments in the recent October Bulletin regarding the omission of full addresses and email addresses of committee members. In fact, until the new members were elected to the committee at the AGM in July, the Contact-Us page DID contain full postal and email addresses for everyone on the committee with the exception of Mike Mulvaney, the RAFLing President, whose address only was shown. After the election of new committee members, the details of all the retired committee members were removed, apart from that of Mike Hancock who is still on the committee as membership Secretary and can still be reached at the email address shown on the page.

With regard to membership lists, due to the prevalence of identity theft, the policy of the previous committee was that only committee members would be in possession of a complete members’ list containing full postal and email addresses as well as telephone numbers. Non-committee members received lists which did not contain the full address, only names and email addresses, (which, incidentally, thanks to Dave Haysom and Mike Hancock, were fully up-to-date and accurate at the time of the AGM). This was done at the specific request of some members who did not wish their full address to be disseminated to everyone.
