Following copied from RAF Gatow post by Angela Stoelwinder & Paul Higgins:
“Hi all,
We would just like all you lovely people to know that our dad, Syd Higgins formerly of 54SU, passed away on the 2nd of November aged 81. At our mum's request, funeral arrangements are being kept private as she's struggling to come to terms with everything at the moment.
He left Gatow and the RAF in 1980 so there may not be many people here who will actually remember him, but when others posted about their losses, I always read the names out to him to see if he recognised anyone - some he did, some he didn't, but he was always interested in hearing about this page x”
