The following is a copy of a Facebook post by John Allan about the sad passing of Dave Petrie (20 June 2020)
"Yesterday was one of those days where everything stopped, the call to tell us that our great friend David had passed leaves us heartbroken. There is so much I could say about this wonderful guy, who I had known and loved for forty years. For now, all I can say is that he, his love for life and brilliant delivery of sometimes repetitive jokes will be missed by all of us fortunate to have known him.
To Lesley, Lizzie and Alison we are so sorry, and sorry we can't be there to offer our support, but our thoughts are with you throughout.
RIP David."
