Sqn Ldr J Blackford

This post is a bit late: it appeared earlier on the Rafling website message board. Those of you who were at 26 S.U. in the mid-1970s will doubtless remember Sqn Ldr Jim Blackford. I am sad to tell you that he passed away suddenly on 12th May 2010, in Waikanae, NZ.

I forget what Sqn Ldr Blackford's designation was - Ops Officer or OC 1 Sqn - but I remember he worked tirelessly to increase the effectiveness of 26 SU's operations and always took great interest in the unit's product.
